Project 1:  Penthouse Triplex – New York City (Tribeca)

Description:

This rare and unique penthouse triplex in Tribeca deserved an equally unique home automation system.

The customers desired a system which was easy to use, intuitive, simple and powerful. As this is not their primary residence, the system needed to be user friendly for guests.

We installed a Savant home automation system accompanied by a Lutron HomeWorks QS lighting and Sivoia QS motorized shades system.

Energy savings was a top priority as the New York City apartment boasts 1,900 sq/ft of floor to ceiling windows. We used motorized sun shades in all of the rooms, with the addition of motorized blackout shades in each of the four the bedrooms.

They needed to be able to control all lighting and shades from anywhere in or out of the apartment. In addition to having an iPhone app, keypads were installed in all of the key locations allowing them to trigger a variety of scenes. The Lutron HomeWorks system allowed them to control of all of their illuminated and natural light from anywhere.

A series of IP motorized PTZ security cameras were installed so that the homeowners could keep an eye on things while they are away.

Project 2:  Park Avenue Penthouse, New York City

Description:

The owners of this eight-room penthouse on the Upper East Side wanted their technology to match their minimalist décor. As you walk around, you’ll see no thermostats, light switches, cable boxes or unnecessary remote controls. Speakers in the main common rooms were custom built into lighting channels to remain unseen; other speakers were specifically selected to match the lighting. All AV equipment is centrally located in a single equipment rack, leaving each room with just a television and single Savant universal remote control. The entire apartment—lights, shades, HVAC, alarm, distributed audio video—can be controlled from any Apple IOS or Android device, or remotely from the road.

Project 3:  Tribeca Apartment

Description:

The goal on this project: to efficiently and visually pair cutting edge technology with the existing contemporary design. This began with a state of the art Savant home automation system and a Lutron lighting system. Living room space was maximized by using a ceiling mounted projector and the master bedroom television was mounted on a motorized arm, easily adjusting to any viewing position. Concealed in a cabinet was the audio video distribution equipment for the entire home.

We proudly took home Savant’s annual award for “Best Savant System 12 Installation" for this job.

Project 4:  Lincoln Center Apartment

Description:

This client and designer wanted the latest technology to visually complement the décor of this art-centric Lincoln Center Apartment. The TVs were not to be seen when not in use. To achieve this, we used a TV lift built in to custom cabinetry in the living room. The master bath boasts a custom-made Seura TV mirror, tuned to be highly reflective for general use. When activated, the center area of the mirror transitions to a fully functional TV complete with a waterproof remote control.

A central keypad in the main living space replaced approximately nine light switches, adding elegance to the area.

Systems:

  • Whole House Music
  • Lighting Control
  • Audio Video Distribution

Project 5:  Yorkville Area Apartment

Description:

Several antique furniture pieces were retro fitted to house various pieces of AV equipment as the client and designer requested that all TVs and equipment be hidden when not in use. We were able to ensure that they have full functionality within these parameters, utilizing existing cabinetry and new built-ins.

Systems:

  • Whole House Music
  • Television Control

Project 6:  Park Avenue Penthouse

Description:

This multi-year project on Park Avenue involved a complete gut renovation of the top two floors of a building. Therefore , we were able to partially recess a 65” TV on a lift into the floor, providing an unobstructed spectacular view when the TV was not in use.

Invisible speakers were used in key areas so as not to conflict with the décor. iPads and touch panels were used to create a custom lighting theme. Touching a picture of room components simply and efficiently activates lights and sets them to the desired level.

We custom engineered an interface to match their phone system to the building’s intercom system, thus eliminating the need for a second set of phones.

  • Whole House Music
  • Lighting Control
  • Motorized Window Treatments
